Outreach
We provide poster (panel) based exhibitions on Arts and Science topics to schools and colleges in order to complement and strongly expand standard curricula. Our material is meant for general public, though we do have also more specialised material. If you are interested contact us using this link or send an email to info(at)kartsci.org
1. Computer History Exhibition show based on a series of around 30 posters and a selection from the Computer Museum collection as illustrated in the image on the right from a recent mini show. Examples from the poster exhibition are shown below. This goes from ancient times to today and touches upon many aspects of evolution of computers and their use including communications art and design.
2. Computers & the Arts. A 12 pannel coverage of the dawn of computer usage in the Arts (literature, painting, dance, design) and the recent developments based on Artificial Intelligence.
3. A History of Communications. A look at the development of communications from the ancient (BC) times to the Internet era.
4. Our Planet. (in preparation) A look at the beauty of unleashed natural phenomena.
5. Moon60. (in preparation) The physical exploration of the Moon began sixty years ago when the first Soviet Union space probe impacted on its surface on September 14, 1959. Ten years later, in July 1969 the first human to walk on the lunar surface was Neil Armstrong, commander of the U.S. mission Apollo 11. The Moon60 exhibition looks at the human perception and exploration of our satellite. It looks at myths, superstitions, gods, stories, calendars and the Moon’s artistic depictions. It recalls lunar exploration from science fiction and fantasy to the reality of Soviet, US Indian and Chinese space programs and looks at up-coming programs.
Volunteers. We need volunteers to help with various aspects: from programming and running an outreach exhibition to helping with the website etc.
