Beads & Abacii

The collection includes counting boards, bead counters and abacii from different parts of the world.  The abacii include the chinese Suanpan, japanese Soroban, russian Stcheti, replicas of roman and Mesoamerican abacus (Nepohualtzintzin). The versions of the Roman abacus are based on Velseri’s text or the few surviving ones found in Italy and old copies in London & Paris  museums.

This ia a rendering of a wearable abacus as described by David Esparza.
