About

The main goals of The Kochi Arts and Science Space (KASS) are to:

  • Educate and foster creativity in its many forms: scientific and artistic. Promote innovation.
  • Expose to and educate people in various artistic and design trends and promote open minded, progressive attitudes.
  • Attract bright young minds into the pursuit of creative work in science, design and the arts.
  • Provide high quality supplementary teaching to that of usual school curricula and also for adults.
  • Generate awareness of ecological and societal issues. Educate the public in various trends in eco-friendly and sustainable design
  • Organise exhibitions in arts & science for the geneal public, schools and higher educational institutions.
  • Maintain an “online” and social media presence to provide educational content, showcase art and design and highlight scientific discoveries

The KASS Charitable Trust aims at creating a multidisciplinary Cultural Centre in Kochi (Cochin, Kerala, India), the Kochi Arts & Science Space.  A seamlessly integrated space that would provide exposure to the complementary worlds of Arts and Science for both adults and children. Most times, Arts & Science museums are kept separate, but why should one do so? We can be sure that Leonardo da Vinci would disagree! There are more & more initiatives around the world to induce Arts-Science collaborations and the KASS idea goes along with these concepts.

At present KASS has only an “online” virtual presence and this website (and associated social media pages) is being built to engage the public in different ways in the arts and science fields and provide educational content.

We have been slowly collecting different items and today can open a Computer History Museum: an excellent illustration of a multidisciplinary subject. We however need space and funding for this and our activities- and thus we seek your assistance.
